Rhoda

Rhoda is a lawyer at the Working Women’s Centre with a background spanning generalist law, family law, criminal law, and regulatory investigation. She holds a double degree in Law (Honours) and Journalism and Professional Writing from the University of South Australia, as well as a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practices.

Before joining the Working Women’s Centre, Rhoda worked as a Lead Lawyer within the Family Law Division of the Legal Services Commission, where she supported women navigating domestic and family violence through a deeply socio-legal and trauma-informed approach. She advised on matters such as intervention orders, coercive control, parenting arrangements, property settlement, civil and criminal issues, and tenancy issues. She has appeared in the Federal Circuit and Family Court, the Magistrates Court, the District Court, and the Youth Court, and has extensive experience advising across a range of legal areas. Rhoda is known for her warmth, patience, and ability to make clients feel genuinely heard and supported. She is passionate about access to justice for vulnerable and marginalised people and is committed to bringing both legal expertise and genuine human connection to every client interaction. She is deeply committed to the Working Women’s Centre’s mission and to the ongoing fight for equity and justice for women and vulnerable people.
