8pm > Music, performance and taking up space – stay as long as you like, we will finish up by

Reclaim the Night is a global activist event that calls for the elimination of gendered violence, an end to victim-blaming, and for actions to build safe and just communities.
Let’s tell politicians and the community that:
• It’s time to end sexual violence in our homes, streets, sports clubs and workplaces.
• Everyone deserves healthcare, choice, bodily autonomy and dignity to be themselves.
• We need stronger human rights, equality, anti-discrimination, and anti-hate laws, in South Australia.
• No workers should be denied rights or safety because of their occupation, their ethnicity, or their visa status.
• Survivors of gendered violence know what needs to change – fund our services and hear our voices!
Reclaim the Night is about taking over public space – we will be loud, proud, fabulous and fun on Kaurna Yarta. We are anti-racist and for streets that are free of hate. We are powerfully
trans and sex worker inclusive. Everyone is welcome. Women and gender diverse people, First Nations people, CALD people and people with disability to the front.
The speeches at Parliament House will be accessible with Auslan interpretation.
We will hear from speakers including:
• Taylor Power – Welcome to Country
• Thais Martins, Emcee – Working Women’s Centre SA
• Kate Obee, Emcee – SA Unions
• Sarah – SA Abortion Action Coalition
• Chrissie – Trans Justice Adelaide
• Brass – Sex Industry Network SA
• Alex – Embolden’s Lived Experience Advisory Network
Alex from the Lived Experience Advisory Network says. “Survivors have told us what needs to change. The challenge now is whether our systems are prepared to listen, act and be accountable for what happens when someone reaches for help.”
“When reports of violence are rising and specialist services are still being asked to do more with less, we have to ask a very simple question: whose safety is actually being funded?”
“Ending gendered violence requires more than asking survivors to speak. It requires governments to properly fund specialist services, embed lived experience in decision making, and turn what survivors have told us into measurable action.”
Together, we take collective action to build safe and just communities for all. Learn more and connect with the event here: https://wwcsa.org.au/campaigns/reclaim-the-night/
