Tomorrow we’ll be participating in the Pay Our Respects – to Australian murdered women of 2019 event.
An important visual reminder of the 61 women who were murdered 2019.
In January 2019 we founded an inaugural event in Adelaide in alignment with the global “Women’s Wave” movement to highlight the issue of violence against women. 69 women congregated on the steps of Parliament House and held a numbered placard in memory of each of the 69 women murdered in 2019 due to gendered violence (see attached photo).
This year, we renamed the event “Pay Our Respects” (to murdered Australian women of 2019) to stand on its own as a truly unique and special Adelaide event that honours Australian women lost to domestic and family violence and other forms of gendered violence.
We invite the people of Adelaide to come and “pay your respects” to each woman murdered in 2019.
